This Replica Viking Chest was a commission project fashioned from seasoned pine recycled from an early Victorian Chest of drawers formally owned by the clients Grandmother.
The commission was as a gift for the clients partner to be used as aid in their history teaching work with young children.
It was built using traditional Viking joints and secured using hand cut Iron nails, the whole box was finished using natural wax polishes.
The Hinges and Clap were fashioned by hand from steel in our North Nibley workshop and fitted with a hand made replica of a Viking lock.
